GREG SMITH

Video Production Specialist

Home: Welcome

This is a brief sample of a few projects from the past few years.

This is a teaser of a longer testimonial video for Hospice of Northwest Ohio. They started an employer outreach program and wanted to share some real stories to encourage employers to assist employees who are also full-time caregivers. I did the edit, color and delivery.

Here is a spot for The Andersons that has some pep to it. I worked with their designer and animated everything in After Effects. All of the vector art was created in Illustrator and sent to AE for animating. This was a fun spot. It received a lot of positive feedback from the company and the local community.

Three Ed's! This is one of several spots for Gino's pizza that utilized this character. Each angle was shot in front of green and composited in AE. There was a ton of cleanup and cloning on the table. The background was also generated in AE.

Faurecia is a leading international auto parts manufacturer. They wanted a video to help illustrate the benefits of their Adaptive Valve by showing how it can help reduce mass. Other than the modeling and 3D animation, I created and animated everything in After Effects.

This video for Faurecia demonstrates their Engineering Change Management process. The graphics were pulled from their process flowchart, to maintain continuity. I shot some of the scenes along with editing and animating.

SSOE "Personified Energy" by generating a plan to trim the fat and get the most bang for the budget. I edited and animated everything in FCP and AE. Some of the art was provided by the art director/producer for the project.

More pizza! This time I was asked to do VOs for twelve :15s. I recorded a scratch track in the early concept phase and they really liked it. Maybe I'll have a career in voice work! I edited these spotsĀ for a web campaign. The creative was derived from Vito himself and some things he says; "Vitoisms."

Our friend was moving away for work, so we decided to create a parody of a Lonely Island song and give it to her for her birthday (We all really like SNL). This was all done using very basic equipment. Shot with a Canon T3i (Magic Lantern) and a GoPro, recorded audio with an H4n and mixed in Audtion, edited in Premiere and finished in AE. We had a lot of fun making this. This is why I got into video production.
...She cried.
